Sample Skeleton Page

Use this example as a guide to getting your new Skeleton-based site up and running.

  • Do try to write your HTML from scratch though:
    • It's good practice
    • It's more satisfying
    • It builds 'muscle memory'

Keep it really simple until you've mastered the basic structure of each page using the grid system.

Remember: everything goes inside class="container". Columns (class="twelve columns") go inside rows (class="row").

There's a simple custom.css file here if you need an example to get you started.

Here's a column using an offset (try the offset-by-six class.

Here's a three-column layout.
The total of the column widths must add up to twelve...
...so four plus four plus four, in this case.

This row uses a custom class, highlight, to add some emphasis. This is not part of the Skeleton framework: you can add your own styles, or even override some of Skeleton's if you don't like them. Just make sure that your custom styles come last in the list of link elements in your head.

So far I am attempting to slowly work through the content but having some minor hiccups along the way.
